G&S's custom home building customers are, in most cases, first time custom buyers. The site explains the process and provides clear reasons to choose G&S.
First, most development sites look alike. This development is an environmentally forward group of homes and townhomes that is anything but typical. We needed to communicate that right away. Second, development websites have an arc – at first you only have floorplans and rendered elevations, later on you'll have interior and exterior photos. The site needs to adapt to those changes as new material becomes available.
We worked closely with this new business of experienced professionals to build their first site from the ground up. This is an example of a collaboration that took place completely through telephone calls and emails.
For Indiana University's Archives of Traditional Music we created a new, media-rich site as well as a new logo and identity. In this case, all the writing was done by the Archives, and we adapted all the images and created all the graphics.

In 2010 we built a very successful web marketing campaign using Google's Adwords network. The company has since changed hands and has a new name.
Now a user-friendly site that invites return visits, the West European Studies program expanded their web presence with a detailed events calendar, video, audio podcasts and an independent RSS feed. All of these features were configured to be updated by non-web-trained department personnel. We created a detailed manual for changing and expanding the site with examples of how to make changes using frequently-changed pages of the site and screenshots of the updating software used at WEST. Completed in 2010.
The South Dunn Street development has as its mission a "focus on existing traditional core neighborhoods", so we wanted to keep their website friendly, simple, and easy to navigate. Video tours hosted by the architect and developer emphasize the appeal of this property.

Meadowood asked us to design a comprehensive website that would serve to educate people about their facilities and services, and would also serve as a reference for their residents and others. The site has been extensively modified and is constantly changing, so we have saved a copy of an early version.
Before we made the site we conducted focus groups with current undergraduate and graduate students to get ideas about what students were seeking in a departmental site. The site is designed to be easy for faculty and departmental staff to independently update their sections. There's also focused and persuasive information that we created for prospective students. We rebuilt and redesigned the Kinsey home page to provide clear and easy access to the content, making it easy to update in the process. We worked with the communications director and web committee to be sure that the home page created the right expression of what the Kinsey Institute is all about. Completed in 2008.
This simple, elegant site was created to market the absolutely highest of high-end wood flooring. An interesting tidbit about this site: We needed to get the photos of the wood grain to look just right. One of the features of top-of-the-line flooring is the tight grain and luminosity that is similar to a cat's eye. In the end we scanned, rather than photographed, planks of finished woods.
