Steven Wicker communes with the fish at our Indianapolis store back in 2004.

Our company started as a full service landscape company. As our passion for water gardening grew, we found no convenient pond supplies retailer in our area. In late 2003 we decided to expand into the retail pond supplies business as well.

We're involved in continuous training and improvement of our pond building and design skills.

As our supplies segment and our pond installation segment grew, we decided to change the focus of the business and Cool Ponds was born. Why Cool Ponds? Because most people who visit our store stand and stare at our main display pond. Then they turn to go into the store and simply say, "That is a Cool Pond."

Cool Ponds is truly a family-owned and operated company. Owned by Steve and Staci Wicker, the pair share management responsibilities with their daughter Kasey and son Steven Jr.

We are proud to have been featured in The Indianapolis Star, in Nursery Retailer Magazine, on Channel 59 Morning News, WIBC Radio several times, and on WTHR Channel 13 on more than one occasion. We were also fortunate enough to have been selected as a garden exhibitor in the Indiana Flower and Patio show each year since 2005. In 2010 we were chosen to build the feature stream that ran 150 feet at the Indiana Flower and Patio show. We were also asked to build a permanent pond at the 2010 Decorator's Show House.

Being a part of the community is important to Cool Ponds. We have built three outdoor labs at Westfield schools, built five water features at Indy Parks, and at both Turkey Run State Park and Fort Harrison State Park.

Cool Ponds business emphasis is service, quality, and education. Our staff spends many hours each year in training; ensuring they are up-to-date on all the new products, services, and helpful solutions available to pond owners.

Cool Ponds has a full-time biologist on staff -- Kasey Wicker, Steve and Staci's daughter who has worked in the family business since its beginning. After working at Cool Ponds parttime while earning her degree from Ball State she decided to join the staff full-time upon graduation. Her responsibilites include customer and staff education and company development.
