Activities Programming

Meadowood Activities Programming is designed to enhance the quality of life of our residents by promoting emotional, mental, physical and spiritual growth. We meet the special needs of our residents by offering activities that are therapeutically adapted to each individual's level of functioning. Our Activities programming allows each resident to choose a leisure lifestyle that fulfills the individual's needs and interests, and therefore enhances the quality of life. We provide a homelike setting that breeds spontaneity, creativity and fun. Meadowood Activities staff encourage and invite residents to participate in a variety of social and recreational activities available within the Health Pavilion on a daily, evening, and weekend basis. Monthly activity calendars are distributed to keep residents and family members informed of upcoming events. Activities include musical recitals, coffee hours, travel shows, Bible study, Bingo, weekly van rides, games, movies, outings, seasonal parties and events, picnics, daily exercise class, small group activities, current events, monthly teas, lunches at local restaurants, and many other various programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our residents. In addition to group activities, Meadowood provides a wide range of in-room and individual activities for those residents who prefer solitary tasks or who benefit from more personalized attention.

Social Services

Meadowood employs a licensed Social Worker to assist residents with personal, family and emotional concerns. Placement in a nursing facility, whether short or long term, can be a difficult transition period for both the resident and family members. Our Social Worker works with residents and families to assure a smooth adjustment to the nursing home environment. In addition, the Social Worker is responsible for coordinating all aspects of a resident's discharge plan and can provide information on a variety of community resources.
