Patients of all ages are welcome at the Health Pavilion. Our team also has extensive training and experience in addressing the specific requirements of patients 50+.

Meadowood offers a comprehensive therapy program that includes Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy.
Our team of therapy professionals specializes in meeting the rehabilitation needs of the general public, older adult and the long-term care resident. This goal is met by teaching compensatory strategies and adapting the environment to each individual's particular needs. The Meadowood therapy team identifies each person's strengths and capabilities and provides a reinforcing atmosphere where the individual is encouraged to maximize his or her potential. By implementing a model of care based on the concepts of restoration, compensation and adaptation, our therapists improve the quality of life for people with physical, cognitive, and communicative deficits.

Therapy services include short-term rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, and the development of functional maintenance programs to enhance the lives of the long-term care resident.

  • Physical Therapy: The focus of Physical Therapy is on the ability to move and function independently within the patient's environment while increasing the overall level of physical endurance. Physical Therapy modalities include:

Occupational therapists address component problems in strength, joint range of motion, muscle tone, sensory and perceptual awareness or cognitive function.

Strength-Building Program

Our team of rehab professionals is proud to offer our Freedom Through Functionality strength-building program, featuring Nautilus exercise equipment including those specifically designed for people age 50+. Research has shown that increased strength helps improve balance and functional mobility. When appropriate, strength-building exercise equipment is incorporated into a patient's rehabilitation plan under the direct supervision of a therapy professional. The use of the Nautilus equipment helps counteract muscle weakness and helps individuals regain strength and muscle tone. For more information on this effective program, please contact the Meadowood Therapy Department.
